AN OLDIE BUT A GOODIE - SIMPLE CROCHET CARDIGAN.

AN OLDIE BUT A GOODIE - SIMPLE CROCHET CARDIGAN.

Hello and welcome to the final oldie but goodie. I hope you've enjoyed this stroll down memory lane. It's been so fun to look back at everything I've made over the last four and a half years and share it again here with you. Since we started the series with one of the most popular and all time favourite it seemed only right to end with the other one.

My simple crochet cardigan was the first thing I made that wasn't a hat or a scarf but the crazy thing is it wasn't that much more complicated. It's basically a large rectangle of crochet folded in half and seamed at the sides to form armholes. I made this one using chunky wool and single ribbed crochet to create a warm cardigan for Autumn/Winter but with a few changes you could easily adapt this to become a light weight Summer shrug instead. Double knit instead of chunky yarn and a non-ribbed double crochet or a larger crochet hook would be all it took. You can find how to make the cardigan here with a link to the original free pattern over on Lion Brand Yarns website.
