MANGFALD PAPER COLLECTION AT IKEA.

MANGFALD PAPER COLLECTION AT IKEA.

Has anyone been to Ikea lately? As a stationery addict the paper shop is always my favourite section. I fell in love with their new Mangfald range as soon as I saw it. Gift wrap, boxes, stickers and washi tape in lovely matte and shiny papers covered in gold accented leopard print, tigers and watermelons. What's not to love? I bought two of everything. I know, I know, I have a problem but how could I resist?

MAKE IT MONDAY: DIY ORIGAMI PENCIL HOLDERS.

DIY ORIGAMI PENCIL HOLDERS

Hi, I'm back with another easy Make It Monday, diy origami pencil cases. I love to give people fancy pens or pencils as presents but sometimes simply wrapping them up doesn't seem like quite enough. I came across these origami chopstick holders and thought the paper pockets would be the perfect way to jazz up any future stationery gifts.

Here's how I made them.

hOW TO MAKE DIY ORIGAMI PENCIL HOLDERS

If you’re new to origami make sure to check out these 3 Basic Origami Folds For Beginners.

1. Cut your paper to size. I used a 7x7 inch square to make these pencil holders but it will depend on the size of your pencils.

2. Fold your square in half with the pattern facing down.

3. Open your paper back out and fold the sides in to meet the center fold.

4. Open out and fold the top left corner to meet the center fold.

5. Fold the top right corner to meet the 1st fold from the right.

6. Fold the right hand side to the center and then the left hand side over to the right.

7. Take the last flap and wrap it around the back. Use a little glue to hold the back flap in place.

8. Flip your paper over and slide your pencils into the pocket.

And there you have it, super cute diy origami pencil holders. The perfect gift for any stationary lovers in your life.

I decided these plain wooden pencil crayons needed brightening up. After all, who wants boring when all you need is a little patience and some washi tape.

Simply decide on a pattern, wrap it around, press firmly and you're done. Easy, right? You could even tie them up with some ribbon or string and give them away as a present. I think they'd make a sweet gift.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN NOTEBOOK.

How to Make Your Own Notebook using washi tape and envelopes- Gathering Beauty

I may have mentioned my love for stationery a few times already, like here and here. I have a soft spot for anything paper, especially notebooks. The problem with this is that I think they're all far too pretty to use. Making my own might be the solution.

Things you'll need.

1. A stack of pretty papers, card stock or envelopes. I made my own pockets by taping two pieces of the card stock together.

2. A selection of washi tape.

3. Scissors.

Layout and trim all your pages.  Don't forget to use card stock on the outside to act as a cover.

Line up the cover and first page. Stick down your strip of tape, remembering to leave a small gap between them so the pages have room to fold. The great thing about washi tape is it can be easily peeled back and repositioned if you make a mistake.

When adding the other pages I found the best way was to stick a strip of tape to your page, fold it over to make a hinge and press the next one on top. Keep going until you have as many pages or pockets as you want.

Remember to try and keep all your edges as straight as possible.

To make the spine of your notebook stick a third of the strip of washi tape to the edge of your bound pages, press down firmly , wrap around and press down again. Don't forget to trim the edges and you're all done.

Now to be brave and start filling it.

CRAFTING GIFT TAGS.

I'm still obsessed with this paper. This time I decided to use it to cover some boring white shipping tags. They look so much prettier this way.
