DIY Crepe Paper Peonies

If you're looking for a fun and easy DIY project, try making these Crepe Paper Peonies. They're simple to make and the end result is stunning.

DIY CREPE PAPER PEONIES

DIY Paper Peonies.

I've had how to make crepe paper flowers on my to-do list for quite a while now. I finally decided to give it a go last week and after a couple of disappointing experiments, I now have a crepe paper peony I'm excited to share with you.

How To Make Crepe Paper Peonies.

1. Start by cutting out all your pieces.

2. Print and cut out the template and trace around it to make 6 of the small petals and 7 of the large ones.

Make sure the grain of the crepe paper is running vertically as this will help when it comes to shaping the petals.

3. Cut a square of yellow crepe paper measuring 3 x 3 inches and a long strip measuring 7 x 2 inches.

4. Add some glue to the end of the floral wire and insert into the bottom of the foam ball. Wrap the square of yellow crepe paper around the ball.

Use floral tape to secure the excess paper.

5. To make the stamen take the strip of yellow crepe paper and cut halfway down to make a fringe.

6. Apply some glue or double-sided tape to the bottom of the strip and wrap it around the wire.

Use some more floral tape to secure the excess paper.

7. Take your petals and using your thumbs push away from the centre to shape each one.

8. Apply a little glue to the bottom of each smaller petal and stick them to the stem. Make sure to overlap each of the petals as you go.

9. Next glue on the larger petals and shape the flower.

10. To finish cover the bottom of your flower and the wire by wrapping around some more floral tape.

Display your crepe paper peonies in a vase or use them as eye-catching gift toppers.

DIY CREPE PAPER PEONIES

I loved how easy the crepe paper was to work with and even though you don't get that amazing scent with the paper version you do get a bloom that will last and last.

THE BEST FUNFETTI SWEET TREATS.

THE BEST FUNFETTI SWEET TREATS.

Hands up if you're as obsessed as I am with the funfetti sprinkle dessert trend. I love, love, love how bright, happy and colourful each of these sweet treats are. If I could live in a house made of sprinkles I would.

Frosted Funfetti Layer Cake

The sprinkles transform an ordinary yellow cake into a kaleidoscope of color, like a miniature paintball gun taking aim at the batter, spattering the layers with pockets of vibrant color. There’s no denying that this cake is downright charming, and yes, I am implying that you won’t be able to stop smiling.

Softbatch Funfetti - Inspired Sugar Cookies

Funfetti Cookies — These funfetti cookies are essentially sugar cookies from scratch that have been loaded with sprinkles. They have that nostalgic boxed cake flavor but are 100% homemade!

Cake Batter Cinnamon Rolls

I’m not sure you’re ready for this. I mean it’s only Monday. But a little sprinkle and funfetti to my mundane Mondays never hurt anyone, right?! I made cake batter cinnamon rolls over the weekend and I didn’t even have to touch the box of cake mix I have in the pantry. That’s right! It’s possible to make these without cake mix.

No-Bake Cake Batter Truffles

No-Bake Cake Batter Truffles are the ultimate simple treat for a birthday party, holiday party, or an afternoon sweet tooth. They’re drool-worthy, delicious and only take 30 minutes to make!

No-Churn Cake Batter Ice Cream With Golden Oreos

I’m not usually a big ice cream eater. It’s fine, but I usually prefer cookies or bars for my empty calories. Until I made this. It’s the best ice cream I’ve ever had. This Cake Batter Ice Cream is packed with sprinkles and Golden Oreos. It’s rich, creamy, and fluffy, but it’s made without an ice cream maker!

Funfetti Biscotti

I am currently working on a big delightful sprinkle cake that's coming soon to a food52 near you, but for now, to kick off all the sprinkle stuff that's going to happen once my sprinkle shipment arrives, I'm giving you biscotti. biscotti that's fit for the unicorniest of tea parties! so go, get your sprinkle on.

Cake Batter Blondies

These “reader favourite” blondies will change your life. 1 bowl. No mixer. You don’t need any baking experience. You don’t need much time at all. 5 minutes to stir the batter, 25-30 minutes to bake, allow to cool and dig in. If you can stir ingredients in a bowl, you can make these blondies.

Baked Funfetti Donuts

Make any morning special with a batch of baked sprinkle donuts! They’re double dipped in vanilla glaze, topped with sprinkles, and simple to make. These baked donuts can easily be adapted into muffins if you don’t have a donut pan. See my recipe notes.

Funfetti Twinkies

We started making a list of recipes we wanted to create and share and about half of them involved funfetti. So, we decided to embrace it and just start a whole FUN FREAKING FETTI series! And we’re calling it Funfetti-fied!

9 WEEKEND DIY'S TO TRY.

9 WEEKEND DIY'S TO TRY.

Yay, the weekend is here and that means it's the perfect time to try a diy or two. From a crocheted wall hanging to a paint by numbers succulent there's something here for everyone.

DIY Hanging Pocket Organiser

This project can help you organise any part of your home really but my initial thoughts were for my art supplies.

Birthday Cake Ice Cream Recipe

Today’s post is a day late and a dollar waffle cone short, but better late than never right?

DIY Paper Maidenhair Fern Mobile

You only need a few supplies to make this – super easy if you have a paper cutting machine, but you can cut by hand as well.

Marble Shelving DIY

I have been eyeing some marble and brass shelving online for a small nook in our bathroom, but they were a bit too pricey. The great thing is, making them is a lot easier than you’d think!

Crochet Wall Hanging Pattern

Looking to jump on the tapestry and wall hanging trend? Why not try a crochet wall hanging?

DIY Triangle Wall Planter

Make a few of these to jazz up your gallery wall space and bring some easy greenery to your room.

Printable Paint By Number

To make this a completely fool-proof project, we’ve also created a colour key including the name of each paint colour you need to fill in every piece of this printable paint-by-number design.

Cotton Candy Milkshake

A sweet & delicious Cotton Candy Milkshake – inspired by summer visits to the fair!

DIY Soap Rocks

This weekend I made my own gemstone DIY soap rocks, and I think they turned out really cool!

Have a great weekend everyone.
