Origami Bookmark.

I love sharing simple, fun and practical origami projects. Whether it be folding paper boxes (like these), coasters for a party or this origami bookmark, folding a single square of paper into something useful will always amaze me.

Have you made an origami craft before? It’s such a fun and relaxing craft. You don’t need any glue or special tools to create something cute. These corner bookmarks are a brilliant place to start with origami as so they’re quick and easy to make.

All you need is six simple folds and a square of paper. You can use them as page markers in textbooks or cookbooks or slip one into a book to give as a gift.

Post-it-note bookmarks

Corner Bookmarks.

I don’t know about you but I've never been able to bring myself to fold a page corner down to mark my place. I bought the most gorgeous cookbook a couple of weeks ago. I started bookmarking some of the recipes using my usual method of post-it notes when I realised that such a pretty book probably deserved better than a bunch of dog eared scraps of paper sticking out the top. Bit of a mess, right?

So I grabbed some pretty origami paper and decided to make some simple origami corner bookmarks instead. They are super easy to make and once you get going I'd say each one only takes about thirty seconds to make. Fifteen minutes later and you’ll have a book filled with lovely corner bookmarks that are just as pretty as the book itself.

Origami Paper.

You can use a variety of paper for these bookmarks. Although I always recommend using origami paper for the best results, most paper will do as long as it’s thin enough to fold.

These bookmarks were made using a 15x15 cm square of paper. But you can always experiment with different sizes of paper to see what works best. As they’re so simple they’d look fantastic decorated with stamps and stickers.

Supplies:

If you don’t have any origami paper on hand you probably have a few of these alternatives at home.

I even have some printable origami paper you can download and use for FREE. Simply download, print and cut into 7x7-inch squares.
