Paper Lantern Pumpkins.

Pumpkins are an absolute must for fall! Whether you’re painting, carving or simply decorating with them, they’re the perfect way to bring a little autumn charm into your home.

This year, I decided to make these cute paper pumpkin lanterns. They’re such a fun fall paper craft and a great project to make when you want something quick, colourful and inexpensive.

You can print the templates directly onto orange and green cardstock or paper, or print them on white cardstock and colour them in yourself.

You could stick with traditional orange pumpkins and green leaves as I did, or get creative with different colours for a fun fall display for your home or classroom.

Supplies:

How To Make Pumpkin Paper Lanterns.

1. Print out the free paper lantern template onto white cardstock or coloured cardstock.

2. Colour in your lantern if you’ve printed it onto white card.

3. Cut along the solid lines for the lantern body piece, as well as the two pieces that will make the handle and the top stem, the leaves and the vines.

4. Fold the main lantern piece in half along the dotted line.

5. Next cut along the vertical lines.

6. Unfold the cardstock and overlap the two ends to make a tube.

7. Staple or the glue in place.

8. Take the stem paper strip to the top of the lantern.

9. Add the handle by glueing it to the inside of the top of the lantern.

10. Add the leaves.

11. Take the thin green paper strips and wrap them around a pencil. Gently slide them off to create curly paper vines.

12. Glue the vines around the top inside of the pumpkin, letting some of them curl and twist upwards.

String your finished lanterns together to make a cute pumpkin garland, or pop a battery-operated tea light inside each one to create a cosy glowing Halloween or Fall decoration.
