DECEMBER DAILY UPDATE: WEEK 1.

6 days in and so far I'm loving my December Daily album but I have to admit it hasn't been as easy as I thought. It probably doesn't help that we don't have our tree up yet and won't until next week so the album is missing all of those sparkly tree shots I see in other albums. Some days it's really hard to remember to take even a single photo and other days all I seem to do is snap shot after shot.

'This album is not about any single story rather it is the sum of all the parts.'

Ali Edwards.

I love this quote from Ali Edwards and it's something I'm trying to remember as I fill my album. It doesn't matter if some days I have no photos or other days I have too many. It all adds up in the end to make a complete story so I'm trying to stick with it even on the slow days.

To make the first page I covered a chipboard divider that comes with the Simple Stories 6x8 album with with some Maggie Holmes Scrapbook paper. I love this paper, it's talking about how all the big moments and little moments add up to make life full and complete so it seemed like the perfect way to start the album.

For day 1 I used one of the 3x4 pockets that came with the album and filled it with some more Maggie Holmes paper, a photo of our advent calendar and a favourite quote. The grey heart paper is from the Amy Tangerine Stitched scrapbook paper pad. I tried to keep it as simple as possible. I printed the text out using this font before cutting it out and sticking it down.

Day 2 was a busy crafty day so I included some photos of the things I'd been making. A scarf that's going to be a Christmas present, some leftover chocolate truffles I'd made a few days before and one of the clay tree decorations I shared on the blog, if you missed them you can find them here. I used one of the Simple Stories Insta Pocket Pages for day 3 with more of the Amy Tangerine Stitched paper and a couple of the cards from the Sn@p gold pack. This was one of the days I forgot to take any photos until we were about to sit down and eat dinner so I snapped a couple of quick photos and jotted down what we were watching.

Day 4 and 5 were more Maggie Holmes paper. I included a currently list, what I'm watching, listening to, reading and making, some photos and another quote. I'm making my Mum one of these simple crochet cardigans for Christmas. I'm about two thirds of the way through and I've been crocheting it for the last few nights so I thought it was time it made an appearance.

We're in the middle of decorating the bathroom and spent most of the day painting so all I managed to include on day 6 was a photo of my paint splattered jeans and the wrappers off some of the chocolate coins I was snacking on.

It's hard to tell in the other photos but I've stuck all the glitter stickers on the outside of the pockets. I like that it gives an extra dimension and if I change my mind about what I want in the pockets I'm not wasting any stickers. I can just peel them off and pop them somewhere else.
