I'm all about making crafting as easy and enjoyable as possible, so I've whipped up this printable with simplicity in mind. All you need to do is download, print, cut, and assemble – easy peasy, right?

And the best part? It's totally free! All you need to do is pop your email address in the form below. Yup, you heard me – no pots of gold required for this one, folks. 😉

DIY Shamrock Treat Boxes.

The highlight of this mini gift box is undoubtedly its shamrock lid. It's similar to my Valentine's Heart Box which I know can be a bit tricky to close.

What I found works best is taking hold of each half of the shamrock at the same time as you slide the lid together. You can also cut the slit a little bit bigger if it needs a little more room to manoeuvre but be careful doing this as it means the lid will rip more easily.

Another thing I found made a difference was the type of card I used. Regular printer paper is too thin. Lightweight card stock or scrapbook paper works best as you need a little flexibility in the lid as you slide it closed. When I tried making some with stiffer, thicker card the shamrock lid tore as I tried to close it.

St. Patrick's Day DIY Gift Box.

This blank treat box template is the perfect blank canvas just waiting for you to decorate it. The reason I like to make these templates blank is so you can print them out onto any colour of patterned paper that you like.

If you're using patterned paper I recommend printing them onto the reverse (blank/white) side of the paper. This means that when you score and fold your box all the printing guidelines will be the inside.

Pop on a gift tag and decorate your finished boxes with shamrocks, rainbows, leprechauns, or all of the above!

How To Make St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Treat Boxes.

1. Download the PDF printable by signing up using your email address below. It makes a 2-inch square box with a shamrock-shaped lid.

2. Print it out into the back (non-patterned side) of your chosen scrapbook paper.

3. Cut out the template using a pair of scissors or a craft knife and steel ruler. You'll need to cut along the dashed lines on each half of the shamrock.

4. Score along all the lines using a scoring tool or bone folder and a ruler. If you don't have a scoring tool an old ballpoint pen is a good alternative.

5. Assemble by applying glue to each flap and folding and sticking them together to make the sides of your box.

7. Fold in the two rectangle shaped flaps on top of the lid.

8. To close your box all you have to do is slide the two shamrock pieces together along the cut dashed lines to form the top of the box.

9. Once your box is all assembled, it's time to fill it with St. Patrick's Day treats. Think gold coins, rainbow candies, or even a little note with a heartfelt message!
