Printable Summer Reading Log.

During the summer months, kids are out of school, and that structured school year reading time? It tends to slip away. But we all know reading is one of the best ways to keep their brains active. A summer reading log helps kids:

  • Keep track of the books they’ve read

  • Feel proud of their progress

  • Set little goals (like '5 books this week!' or '20 pages a day!')

  • Reduce screen time by making reading part of their summer schedule

Love these? ❤️ You can get the full set of my Printable Summer Reading Logs in my Etsy shop.

How to Use Your Free Summer Reading Log.

This summer reading log includes space to write the date, titles of the book and author, along with a section to track the number of pages read.

  1. Print it out: I recommend using card stock if you’ve got it but regular paper works fine too!

  2. Set a goal: 5-10 pages a day, or one book per week for the older kids.

  3. Visit your local library: Let the kids pick out some new books to get excited about. Our local library has reading challenges with little prizes in the summer.

  4. Track your reading: Fill in the book title, author, and the number of pages read each day.

  5. Colour in the border: Let your little (or not-so-little) ones get creative with it! It’s like a mini art project AND a tracker in one.
