LAST MINUTE DIY ADVENT CALENDARS.

There's still a few days until December so if you've been thinking about making your own advent calendar there's still time. Here's a few ideas that have inspired me and I thought might inspire you as well.

It's hard to go wrong with these sweet tiny boxes topped with tiny trees in this mini tree advent calendar from Oh Happy Day. There's even a template you can download.if you're feeling brave and fancy having a go at making the boxes yourself.

If bright and bold is more your thing then you're going to love these colourful paper envelopes

from A Beautiful Mess. A fantastic alternative to the traditional christmas greens and reds.

I love candles and I love this fresh and simple floral customised advent stand from Fellow Fellow. The perfect way to display your advent candles.

I MADE THIS... PERFECT BOUND NOTEBOOK.

I Made This... Perfect Bound Notebook.

If you're looking for a weekend craft project can I suggest you check out Amber and her fantastic blog Damask Love. I used her brilliant video tutorial for perfect binding to make this notebook and I can't recommend it enough.

I've made a few simple notebooks before using patterned paper, envelopes and washi tape but never anything more complicated until now. To be honest all the talk of signatures and stitching has always put me off but using the perfect binding technique means no stitching required, only glue.

I Made This... Perfect Bound Notebook - Gathering Beauty

I used American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm scrapbooking paper to make the cover and pva glue to bind the spine. The pva glue spine makes it easy to tear out pages as you jot down notes.

If you're interested in learning more about bookbinding you can find a whole series of easy to follow tutorials on Damask Love called Bookbinding University beginning with lesson one: diy composition notebooks and going all the way through to making your own hard cover cover notebooks from scratch.

Have a great weekend everybody and happy crafting.

THREE THINGS - FREEBIE EDITION NO.2.

We're off to Wales for a few days tomorrow and instead of packing I've been listening to The 20/20 Experience Part 2 and trawling the internet for more freebies to share with you. Even though I feel quite organised I'm sure I'll be running around in a mad panic an hour or so before we're meant to leave. In the meantime here are the three freebies I found and wanted to share with you all.

1. I really hope you can never have too many fonts because my collection just keeps growing. This little beauty is called Prudence from Lost and Fawned and I love it.

2. How amazing are these calligraphy photoshop brushes from Besotted? I think they'd make great thank you notes or gift tags.

3. Another fantastic free printable from Eat Drink Chic. This time a Sweet New Year Calendar for 2014. So cute.

Have a great weekend everybody.
