I MADE THIS... PERFECT BOUND NOTEBOOK.

I Made This... Perfect Bound Notebook.

If you're looking for a weekend craft project can I suggest you check out Amber and her fantastic blog Damask Love. I used her brilliant video tutorial for perfect binding to make this notebook and I can't recommend it enough.

I've made a few simple notebooks before using patterned paper, envelopes and washi tape but never anything more complicated until now. To be honest all the talk of signatures and stitching has always put me off but using the perfect binding technique means no stitching required, only glue.

I used American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm scrapbooking paper to make the cover and pva glue to bind the spine. The pva glue spine makes it easy to tear out pages as you jot down notes.

If you're interested in learning more about bookbinding you can find a whole series of easy to follow tutorials on Damask Love called Bookbinding University beginning with lesson one: diy composition notebooks and going all the way through to making your own hard cover cover notebooks from scratch.

Have a great weekend everybody and happy crafting.
