6 BRIGHT AND COLOURFUL DIY'S TO TRY.

6 Bright and Colourful Diy's to Try.

Looking for a summer craft project? Why not try one of these bright and colourful diy's.

DIY Potted Cactus Macarons

I’ve had this little DIY up my sleeve for a while now (inspired by my DIY Christmas cactus tree, of course), and I’m so pumped to finally share it with you! The point is, is that they’re as sweet as they are cute, and they’re also one of the few cacti you can actually encourage kids to take a bite out of.

2. Brighten up your sofa with these pink velvet and gold foil pillows from Design Love Fest.

DIY Painted Storage Box

If you have seen my craft stuff you would know I need a LOT of these, because I have way too much stuff. In fact, I can be a semi-hoarder when it comes to wrapping paper, ribbons, party supplies and such and I’m hoping when I get everything together I can share some pics but who knows how long it will take me.

DIY Dip-Dyed Vases

If there’s one thing I love about Spring, it’s the flowers. With the flowers, comes the vases. The DIY dip-dyed vases, my friends. This is a little different spin off these dip-dyed babies I did a few years ago. They’re mini. And they have gold on them. Hooray for gold!

Crepe Paper Lei DIY

This DIY crepe paper lei is super easy to make and is the perfect accessory for any tropical summer party. When you wear it, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to an island beach! Without leaving your home, you can go somewhere exotic by doing yoga, lighting a tropical candle, listening to new music, or drinking something refreshing!

First Father’s Day Gifts // Embroidered Photographs

A dad’s first Father’s Day is a pretty special thing. And first Father’s Day gifts can be extra special too! If there’s a dad in your life that you’d like to celebrate, these embroidered photographs are a perfect gift idea.

MAKE THESE: DIY GOLD TRIMMED DRY ERASE BOARDS.

Have you seen these dry erase tiles from Command?

I'm always looking for more ways to be organised and I think these tiles might be exactly what I've been looking for. They're made by the same people who make those sticky wall hooks that don't damage your wall and they work in exactly the same way. Each tile even has a built-in level so you know when you're hanging it straight.

The gold edged dry erase boards in the image above are by Ashley from Sugar & Cloth. You can find the full tutorial here. I think one of these would be perfect above my desk.

I've always been huge fan of the blog The Jealous Curator, in fact if you follow my Art board on Pinterest you'll know that a lot of what I pin there comes this blog. The site is ran by Danielle Krysa and showcases contemporary art from around the world. Everything shared on there is gold. If you're an art fan I recommend checking it out.

The Jealous Curator has just released her second curated collection of wall art for Land of Nod. It's got something for everyone, prints, tapestries, canvases, 3D paper art and even a hanging mobile. I love every single one of them but I picked six of my favourites to share with you. I've got my eye on the pink cacti print and the 3D paper badger. How about you? Any favourites?

SWEET AND SIMPLE PEACH LEMONADE.

Sweet and Simple Peach Lemonade.

Peaches are in season in the UK at the moment so they're everywhere. I picked up a load of these delicious looking saturn peaches on the weekend and wanted to use them to make two things, a sweet peach lemonade and a quick cheats version of peach ice cream.

Today I'm sharing the sweet and simple peach lemonade. It's light and refreshing with just the right amount of tang. Perfect for cooling down on a hot Summer's day. Not only is it delicious but it also has the added bonus of being really easy to make, all you need is 4 ingredients and a blender.

Sweet and Simple Peach Lemonade Recipe.

Ingredients needed to make this fresh Peach Lemonade: (makes around 1 litre)

4 peaches,

The juice of 2 lemons,

400 ml water (still),

1-2 tablespoons of agave syrup according to taste.

recipe adapted from here.

How to make Sweet and Simple Peach Lemonade.

1. Cut up the peaches and remove the pit. I left the skin on mine but you could remove it if you want. Pop the peaches in a blender and blend until smooth.

I set my blender to the smoothie setting and let it do it's thing. It didn't have any problems dealing with the peach and the skins but if you're worried about any left over fruit pulp pass your mixture through a fine sieve before adding your water and lemon juice.

The blended peaches were a dark orange/brown colour (see below) but changed to a light golden peach as soon as the other ingredients were added so don't worry if this happens to you.

How to make Sweet and Simple Peach Lemonade.

2. Add the lemon juice and water and blitz together. Your peach lemonade should go light and frothy.

3. Sweeten your lemonade to taste with some agave syrup and stir well.

4. Serve over ice and drink.

I didn't have any ice but what I did have was a punnet of raspberries in the freezer so I popped a couple of the frozen raspberries into each glass instead. They worked really well. Store any leftover peach lemonade in the fridge in a pitcher with a lid for a couple of days. Don't forget to give it a good stir before you serve.

Enjoy.
