Hi, I'm Emma.

I'm a crafter, blogger and paper enthusiast living in the North West of England.

Gathering Beauty is the place where I share craft tutorials and diy inspiration. I started this blog back in 2013 as a way of sharing all the things I love and make. I share paper crafts, clay crafts, origami, printables and desktop wallpapers as well as the odd crochet and weaving project. I hope you find something here that inspires you.

PREPPING FOR DECEMBER DAILY 2015.

Prepping For December Daily 2015

I'm so excited to be sharing the start of my December Daily album with you. I've never done a December Daily before but after seeing all the layouts popping up on Pinterest in the last few weeks I decided to give it a go. December Daily is a mini album project designed by Ali Edwards that documents the run up to Christmas. I've tried weekly and monthly pocket scrapbooking in the past and while I start out strong I'm never able to keep it going. I like the fact that this is a month long project. I don't need to worry about running out of steam and I love that at the end of December I'm going to have a document of everything that's happened in the last 4 weeks.

December Daily 2015 // Simple Stories 6x8 Snap Binder and Gold Snap Pack

For my album I decided to use the Simple Stories Sn@p 6x8 inch binder. It comes with a variety of pocket pages and 3 chipboard dividers. I used one of the dividers to make the title page and covered it with scrapbook paper from the Maggie Holmes collection. I bought an extra pack of the Simple Stories page protectors, they do a variety pack of insta pocket pagesthat are perfect for all those Instagram photos and I loved all the different layouts they included.

Next I looked through all my craft supplies for anything I could use. I decided to go with a gold, kraft, black and white theme with pops of colour so I could use my existing supplies. I fell in love with both the Maggie Holmes paper and the Amy Tangerine Stitched paper when I bought them last month so I knew I wanted to use those.

I had some gold washi tape (similar here) and gold glitter alphabet stickers already so I bought some glittery number stickers to go with them. To finish off I bought the Simple Stories Gold Sn@p pack. It's designed to fit all the different size pockets so you get some square cards, some 3x4 cards, some larger postcard size cards and a selection of die cuts in the pack. The quality of the cards is great as are all of the designs. My favourites have to be all the gold letterpress cards although I love them all.

December Daily - Simple Stories Snap Insta Page Pockets

To prepare I've tried to fill as many of my pockets as I can. As the month progresses all I should need to do is print my photos and fill in any journalling. The thing I love most about using these pocket pages is that nothing is set in stone. If I don't like how something looks I can easily move it somewhere else.

I plan to share my December Daily progress weekly so make sure to check back for updates. And if anyone's got any tips or tricks or recommended products please share them in the comments below, I'd love to hear about them.

10 OF THE BEST GROWN-UP COLOURING BOOKS.

10 Of The Best Grown-Up Colouring Books

Colouring books aren't just for kids any more. There's a huge range of colouring books aimed at adults as well. I've bought a few as gifts but so far none for myself. There's so many to choose from that it's hard to pick just one. I love the beautifully intricate drawings in Lost Ocean and vintage inspired botanical prints in The Art of Nature not to mention all the different types of typography in The Typography Colouring Book.
